Planning your meals
How to schedule recipes onto days of the week and turn a planned week into a grocery list in one tap.
Adding a recipe to a day
On the Meal Plan tab, tap the plus on any day to open the recipe picker. The picker is your Cookbook: the same search, the same tag filter, the same sort options, and the same Collections and All Recipes views. Check as many recipes as you want, set the servings for each, and confirm. Opening a collection to browse inside it never clears what you have already checked.
The same recipe can land on several days, and a single day can hold several recipes.
To take one meal off the plan, tap the trash on its row — it goes straight away, and the recipe stays in your Cookbook. To clear a whole day at once, tap the trash next to the day's name and confirm.
This Week vs. Later
The plan groups days into 'This Week' (today plus the next six days) and 'Later'. This Week days have a solid green outline; Later days are dashed grey until they have something on them.
Days that have already happened collect in a 'Past' section with a 'Clear Past' pill.
Sending a plan to your grocery list
Tap 'Add to Groceries' at the top of the Meal Plan tab. A picker shows every day with planned meals, pre-checked; uncheck any you don't want to shop for, and confirm.
The ingredients merge into your grocery list, scaled to the servings you planned and minus what's already in your pantry.
Meals are marked as done once they're on the list, so it's obvious at a glance what still needs sending. A meal you've finished shopping for — nothing of it left unchecked — stays done even after the list is cleared.
Keeping the grocery list in step with plan and recipe edits
Once a meal is on your grocery list, editing it in the Meal Plan can update the list for you: removing the meal or clearing its day takes its ingredients back off, and changing its servings adjusts the amounts.
Editing the recipe itself does the same, whether you edit it by hand, with Edit with AI or a diet fix, or restore a version from History. When the edit changes an ingredient, an amount or the recipe's serving count, a new ingredient is added, one you dropped comes off, and a changed amount moves by the difference. Everything else on the list stays as it is, and your planned servings don't change. Renaming a recipe renames it on the list too.
While Grocery Sync is on Ask, you're asked each time whether to update the list always or just this once. Cancel leaves everything as it was: the meal stays planned, or the recipe edit stays unsaved. To leave the list alone without being asked, choose Never in Profile → My Kitchen → Groceries → Grocery Sync (Ask, Always or Never).
Items you've already checked off are never touched, and ingredients another planned meal still needs stay on the list. A meal you've finished shopping for is left alone, and meals you haven't sent to the list yet aren't affected — add those from the Meal Plan when you're ready. A recipe you added straight from the Cookbook keeps its amounts when you edit it.
